C.H.O.I.C.E

WHAT IS C.H.O.I.C.E.?®

C.H.O.I.C.E. stands for “choosing how our individualized care evolves” which supports everything we do at Norridge. The C.H.O.I.C.E. program is the foundation for our “resident driven” care model. Each resident makes his or her own decisions about when to get up, bathe, or eat as well as when to participate in any or all resident activities such as outings, croquet, cooking class, book club or gardening. With C.H.O.I.C.E. every aspect of our care evolves around the resident’s preferences instead of the facility’s time frame. C.H.O.I.C.E. was developed to improve the lifestyles of our residents and the program evolves as the residents’ needs and wants change.

Why is C.H.O.I.C.E. the Norridge way?

At Norridge, CH.O.I.C.E. helps us demonstrate our commitment to the uniqueness of every individual. Our mission is to:
  • Encourage our residents to maintain control over and enjoy their own lives.
  • Provide a home-like setting that is clean and safe.
  • Employ a caring and respectful staff that responds to our residents’ needs as if they were their own family.
  • Offer the highest quality specialty services from our therapy and rehab programs, to our specialty units such as Alzheimer’s care or subacute care.
  • Create unique activities that are appropriate and engaging for the older or rehabilitating adult but include everyone.
  • Provide for the physical care of our residents, but also assist in meeting their spiritual and emotional needs as well.
The C.H.O.I.C.E. Program encourages our residents to be active participants in their care and to maintain control over their lives. As a rehabilitation patient or long term resident, we encourage independent living as much as possible. When a resident comes to our facility, he or she should:
  • Gain independence through our rehabilitation services
  • Grow through support groups
  • Become more mobile with the assistance of others
  • Enjoy delicious food shared with friends and family
  • Improve their personal appearance with the help of trained and caring staff
Coming to a healthcare facility with support and professional, compassionate care, can be a good option for you and your loved one. We are committed to working with our families and offering:

Trusted Care. Peace of Mind.
